Faithful Friar’s Message
The Lord is risen, let us be glad and rejoice with him because we share in his
resurrection. After completing the season of Lent which helped us in
preparation for Easter, we are now in the joyful season of Easter. Easter
reminds us that Jesus who suffered, died and rose on the third day is ever
living among us. In the liturgy of the Holy Week, we noticed how tough it was
for Jesus in his saving actions especially his passion and death on the cross.
Though it was so tough he completed it. “It is finished” (Jn. 19:30). That means
the work which is given to him by his father is completed through his death on
the cross. His resurrection is not only his victory but also a victory for his
disciples: past, present and future disciples. Brothers, we are happy to be his
present disciples. Through the sacrament of baptism we share in his death and
resurrection. We are new creation. As new people saved by the risen one, we
are always called to be thankful to Jesus for what he did and is doing to us. As
disciples of Jesus, the risen one let always in the joy of the good news of Easter
as Easter people that the risen one is always among his disciples. After his
resurrection he dies no more. He is the source of new life and joy for us as
Easter people. He is the reason for our hope as his disciples living in the same
world he lived, loved and redeemed but without being of the world. Brother
Knights, as missionary disciples of Jesus, entrusted with a mission, let us
continue to share the joy of Easter with our brothers and sisters in our
communities in our daily activities and relationships. Let us make this Easter
joy contagious to anyone we meet and this can be an opportunity for someone
to accept the kingdom of God which Jesus came to establish here on earth.
The Lord is risen. Alleluia.
